I've learned from some of the most effective exercise coaches and massage therapists in the world, and helped clients from new mums to Olympic athletes.Coming from a background in engineering, I love to work on a good problem. Whether that be figuring out the cause of a pain, how to stabilise a dodgy shoulder or how to maximise power in a movement, the principles of exercise kinesiology have helped me successfully rehabilitate and 'pre-habilitate' heaps of clients.

So if you'’re struggling to recover from whiplash, needing to get strong for a skiing holiday or anything in between, Spark is your ideal coach.We'’re distinct from other exercise professionals because of the precision of our initial assessment. This allows us to design a customised program of exercise specific to your needs, which saves you time and effort in the studio. That means you can spend more time doing the things you love to do. Spark is not just about training; our educational approach teaches you lifelong skills, and how to make simple changes to optimise your energy, your health and your strength.

Harry is accredited by the CHEK Institute in San Diego as a CHEK Level 2 Practitioner. The skills gained through these studies equip him to fully analyse clients' individual functional needs, whether for competitive sport or everyday living.As a former elite athlete, Harry has experienced first-hand the practical challenges of both performance training and rehabilitation. Through continuing study with the CHEK Institute and his regular practice of Ashtanga yoga, Harry has developed a unique and practical approach to injury prevention and recovery, and to enhancing movement skills.With over 13 years' international experience in health and wellness, Harry's involvement in the rehabilitation and strength & conditioning of teams at the Scottish Institute of Sport saw him helping elite athletes achieve success at both Commonwealth and Olympic games, including a double gold medallist at the Beijing Paralympics velodrome. He regularly instructed Ashtanga yoga to Glasgow Rangers Football Club during the 2008/09 season when they reclaimed the Scottish Premier League soccer title, helping to measurably reduce injury rates compared to the previous season. When working as a personal trainer at one of the UK's premier health clubs, Harry quickly identified that in order for his clients to achieve lasting results their approach required more than just physical training. This led Harry into further study in the field of nutrition and Metabolic Typing. Being a former South African taekwondo champion Harry fully understood the nutrition requirements of an elite athlete. He has now furthered his qualifications to enable him to offer sound analysis and coaching of everyone's nutritional needs.Harry is extremely passionate about health and wellbeing and has the proven results to support his methods. He continues to develop his professional knowledge and skills through research and further study. He is very understanding to individuals' needs and desires and strives to help them achieve their maximum potential.

At Spark we teach movement from the principles of exercise kinesiology. The simplest way to describe what we do is that it’'s a bit like personal training, but with a real emphasis on motor control, which optimises alignment and quality of movement. With good biomechanics and neuromuscular control your movement is smoother and your risk of injury is lower, so depending on your needs you can either do a lot more with a lot less effort and less pain, or you can produce more athletic power with more efficiency.Exercise kinesiology is a very effective approach to physical rehabilitation and performance training, supported by decades of research by leading scientists and therapists around the world. By progressively challenging your balance and coordination, the conditioning techniques we teach you demand more and more of your nervous system, stimulating it to increase and coordinate its output to your muscles. So your movement becomes more integrated and able to withstand your functional demands in daily living.
